Renovais the brand name for Tretinoin, a
topical form of vitamin A,
used to generate skin renewal, to decrease the appearance of wrinkles
and fine lines, to soften complexion and improve skin coloration.
Renovais a prescription available and should be used exclusively
in
recommended dosage for optimum results. Higher amounts of Renova
or
longer treatment spans could also induce adverse reactions on skin.
Directions of using Renova:
It is important to respect general hygiene rules before applying Renova. Hands and the area to be applied on should be carefully cleansed and dried approximately 20 minutes before using the medication, otherwise irritation may appear. In order to achieve the proper effect, leave Renova on for another 60 minutes without using additional skin care products.
Missing a dose of the medication implies taking it as soon as remembered or taking the next one on schedule. However, it has no effect to apply more medicine in order to compensate having missed a dose.
During Renova treatment, patients are recommended to avoid sun or artificial UV rays exposure or to use UV protection cosmetics and proper clothing. In association with sun rays, Renova may cause sunburn and increased sensitivity. Also, wait until skin recovers from sunburn or any type of irritation before using Renova.
Contraindications to Renova :
Renova is contraindicated in patients with sensitivity reactions at its ingredients. It should be discontinued in case of severe reactions.
Renova's Side Effects:
Reported side effects of the drug include skin irritation, especially
if associated with sulfur, benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol and salicylic
acid based products. Increased sensitivity may also be caused by
associating Renova with diuretic pills, tetracycline,
antibitiotics, fluphenazine, perphenazine, chlorpromazine, prochlorperazine,
promethazine and other similar substances.
Vitamins, minerals,
herbal-based medication and various other therapies may also interfere
with Renova.
