Patient Information:
Cialis is an oral drug treating erectile dysfunction generically known as Tadalafil. Cialis benefits from FDA approval and is available in 20mg, 10mg and 5 mg tablets. Cialis is a PDE5 Inhibitor, like all other ED oral drugs and works by boosting blood flow into the penis under sexual influence helping male patients maintain the achieved erection to perform sexual intercourse. Cialis may be used by patients with mild and severe erectile dysfunction with optimum results.
Cialis, unlike
similar ED oral medication is effective for up to 36 hours; this is why
it is also called the “All-Weekender” pill. In addition, it may
become
efficient in less than 30 minutes after intake, being rapidly absorbed
into the blood. As a result, planning sexual activity becomes relaxing
and spontaneity is enhanced.
Cialis is
available by prescription only.
Direction of using Cialis:
Medication is taken once a day and is independent of meals and food restrictions. However, excessive alcohol consumption is contraindicated in association with Cialis, as it may induce dizziness and low blood pressure level.
Contraindication to Cialis:
For patients taking nitrates for treating heart disorders and alpha
blockers used to treat prostate problems. Men for whom sexual
intercourse is considered dangerous should not take Cialis,
either.
Diabetic type 1 and 2 patients have proven overall positive reactions
to Cialis during clinical tests.
Cialis' Side effects:
Some side effects may be induced by Cialis intake. Mild reactions to the drug may be revealed as stomach disturbances, headache, muscle aches or back pain. Usually, such symptoms should not last for more than few hours.
Back pain and muscle discomfort appears, regularly, within the next 24 hours after taking the medication and decrease within next 48 hours.
More severe side effects requiring immediate medical help include:
- prolonged erection lasting for more than 4 hours (priapism) and causing serious damage to the penis,
- sudden vision troubles including vision loss
Cialis is used in treating male inability of achieving and maintaining hard erections, but it does not cure erectile dysfunction, nor does it protect from sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy or HIV.
Cialis does not work as an aphrodisiac; it needs sexual stimulation to determine erections.
